Keells Krest is Sri Lanka's best-known chicken sausage brand, made by Keells Food Products in Colombo. In Delhi NCR you can order the full range from Fresh'N Frozen, frozen and vacuum sealed, with same-day delivery on orders placed before 4 PM.
There are six flavours and a mixed platter. Here is what each one is like, who it suits, and how to cook it.
The quick answer: which Keells sausage should I buy?
- For kids and tiffins: Smoked, Cheese & Onion or Breakfast
- For parties and snacks: Cocktail Extra Spicy
- For pasta and sandwiches: Garlic
- For people who like real heat: Chilli with Scotch Bonnet
- Can't decide: a mixed combo, so the family can try three or four flavours at once
Keells Krest flavours, one by one
Smoked Chicken Sausage (250 g, 12 pieces)
The classic frank and the most popular Keells sausage in Delhi. Gently smoky, mild, and thin enough to cook in a few minutes. It goes into hot dog rolls, fried rice, pasta, or straight onto a breakfast plate next to eggs. Shop Smoked, Pack of 2 or Pack of 3.
Chicken Cheese & Onion Sausage (250 g, 5 pieces)
Short, plump sausages with cheese and mild onion worked through. No chilli heat, which is why children ask for these again. Best pan-fried until golden and served in a bun or with toast. Shop Cheese & Onion.
Chicken Cocktail Sausage Extra Spicy (200 g, 12 pieces)
Bite-size sausages with a proper kick. The easiest party snack there is: pan-fry or air-fry until crisp, put toothpicks in, and serve with a chilli or mayo dip. Plan three to four per guest. Shop Cocktail Extra Spicy.
Chicken Garlic Sausage (250 g, 5 pieces)
Garlic-forward and savoury, with no chilli. Slice into pasta, add to a sandwich, or serve next to buttered vegetables. Shop Garlic.
Chicken Breakfast Sausage (250 g, 5 pieces)
Lightly seasoned and the mildest of the range. Made for the full breakfast: eggs, toast, hash browns, mushrooms. Shop Breakfast.
Chicken Chilli Sausage with Scotch Bonnet (250 g, 5 pieces)
The hot one. Scotch bonnet chilli gives a fruity, building heat. Grill until charred at the edges and serve in a roll with onions. Shop Chilli.
Mixed combos
If you want to try several flavours, the combos put three or four packs together: the Variety Pack (Cocktail, Smoked and Cheese & Onion), the Trio (Breakfast, Garlic and Chilli) and the Party Pack. The Tiffin Pack is one Breakfast and one Garlic, two mild flavours for school and office lunches. See all Keells packs and combos.
How to cook Keells sausages
- Pan-fry: medium heat, a little oil, turn often until golden all over and hot through.
- Air-fry: a single layer, shake the basket halfway, until browned and hot through.
- Grill or barbecue: medium heat, turning, until lightly charred.
- In a dish: slice and add to fried rice, pasta or an omelette near the end of cooking.
Always follow the cooking instructions on the pack. For a full guide to pan, oven and air fryer, see how to cook frozen sausages.
